In response to the new GDPR (the came into force today) Apple updated it Privacy policy on Tuesday and as part of the update, it debuted a new tool that allows you to easily download all of the data that Apple has about you. On Wednesday it also launched a new website that allows you to correct your personal data or if wish, delete your Apple account entirely.

The Korean giant Samsung is set to open a new Artificial Intelligence lab in Cambridge, focusing on projects such as emotion recognition and medical prediction. With the new launch, Samsung have said that the centre will bring 150 jobs to the UK as it expands its research and development workforce in the country from 250 to 400 people.

A new partnership between University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and the Alan Turing Institute has been announced and with it comes the news that in some instances, doctors will be replaced by AI in an attempt to build efficiency. The overall aim of the partnership is to apply game-changing benefits of machine learning to the NHS from reducing A&E waiting times to identifying patients who are likely to fail to attend appointments.

Uber announced on Thursday that it will be building a new advanced tech centre in Paris for researching focused on a flying taxi Uber Elevate project. When launched the UberAir, as it will be known, will be on the hunt for a third international city to bid for the chance to have demonstration flights, alongside Dallas and Los Angeles.
