As a Mechanical Design Engineer based in Germany, you'll take genuine ownership of projects, driving mechanical building services design from early concept through to successful delivery across a variety of exciting built environment sectors.
What You'll Achieve As A Mechanical Design Engineer
- Lead the design and coordination of mechanical installations, systems, and equipment across small-to-medium scale projects
- Develop and specify HVAC, controls, and building services solutions tailored to project requirements and client needs
- Survey, test, and report on existing mechanical installations, providing expert technical assessment
- Ensure all engineering calculations and technical drawings meet industry, legal, and safety standards
- Represent the business professionally at client, contractor, and design team meetings
- Review and validate technical input from Graduate and Intermediate Engineers, actively supporting their development
- Prepare and update technical specifications and project documentation with precision and clarity
- Fluent German (essential); professional-level English highly desirable
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status
- Experience in mechanical design or specification for at least one building type
- Solid understanding of health and safety legislation and applicable regulations
- Familiarity with German and international engineering codes and standards (desirable)
- Proficiency in MS Office and IT-based engineering calculation software
- Strong ability to manage your own workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
