Samsung reveals foldable smartphone
After testing the device for weeks, Samsung unveiled its foldable smartphone on Wednesday. The Infinity Flex Display has a tablet-size screen the can be folded up to fit into a pocket. Up to three apps will be run simultaneously, using something Samsung calls a multi-active window.

China’s state news agency unveils AI news presenter
China’s state news agency Xinhua has unveiled a virtual newsreader sporting a sharp suit that can apparently “read texts as naturally as a professional news anchor”. The AI system has been used to synthesise the presenters’ voices, lip movements and expressions, based on those of real Xinhua presenters.

Google walkout update: organisers not satisfied with CEO’s response
Following the massive walkouts at Google offices last week CEO Sundar Pichai responded to some of their demands, outlining how Google is getting rid of forced arbitration for sexual harassment and sexual assault claims. But the organisers of the walkouts are not satisfied with the response noting how Pichai’s response did not address many of the core demands, such as elevating the diversity officer and employee representation on the board.
