New smart camera technology developed by a university

CCTV jobs and news: 2018 top video surveillance trendsLight Invariant Video Imaging (LIVI) software technology, developed by Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (BGU) researchers, will significantly improve picture clarity in sub-optimal lighting and enhance object recognition. It eliminates the effects of background or dynamic lighting conditions, thereby delivering shadow-free images with constant colour output and improved contrast.  The new software will enhance many smart camera applications, including facial recognition for security and augmented reality.

Project Servator is now covering London

Eligo Fire & Security Weekly news and jobs: Project Servator is now covering LondonThe UK policing tactic used to deter, detect and disrupt terrorism and other crime, called Project Servator, began officially operating across London on Thursday, April 5. Project Servator sees the deployment of both highly visible and covert police officers, supported by other resources such as dogs, Mounted Branch, firearms officers, vehicle checkpoints, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) and CCTV. The tactics used have been developed and tested at the UK official Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) with the City of London Police.
