Smarter & More Affordable Video Surveillance thanks to AI & Cloud Services

Smarter & More Affordable Video Surveillance thanks to AI & Cloud ServicesDue to the smart technology revolution that has been taking place over the past decade we now expect to be able to ask machines about what is happening and what has happened in the real world. We now demand analyzed, real-time information about our environment at the click of a button. Now that we have AI and the cloud video surveillance should be part of the technology platform that offers such insight and offers it in an affordable way. Advanced video surveillance systems have historically been too expensive for small to medium sized installations in the commercial and residential markets. Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) removes capital barriers and gives customers of all sizes flexible, on-demand, best-of-breed combinations of surveillance services, orchestrated around cloud services.

WebWayOne acquired by CSL

Eligo Fire & Security weekly industry news: WebWayOne acquired by CSL“WebWayOne have software capabilities that we do not have and we look forward to being able to offer these to our customers,” said the CSL’s CEO following the announcement that CSL, a provider of connectivity for M2M and IoT devices, has acquired WebWayOne Ltd, the alarm transmission service provider founded in 1999. “Acquisitions and reinvestment have been vitally important to our strategy. Home Office proposed a new biometrics strategy

Security/Access Control Installation Engineer jobsA ‘ single biometrics platform’ at the Home Office is proposed in the department’s newly published ‘Biometrics Strategy’ about its use of such technology. It proposes to ‘seize opportunities to use biometrics across the Criminal Justice System to verify identity and identify individuals’ and use facial matching to verify people entering at ports and airports. Instead of ad hoc ‘development of parallel information technology systems’, including separate fingerprint ones for visas and policing, the Home Office proposes a ‘more consistent, centralised development’, and ‘a more consistent approach to retention’.

Euralarm’s Annual report released

Fire engineer jobs and industry news: Euralarm's Annual report releasedThe publication of the report coincides with the end of the Euralarm Board’s three-year mandate and therefore, beyond the usual account of the past year’s activities, it also offers a review of the work achieved during that three-year period, particularly in terms of invigorating the Euralarm community. One of the highlights of the past year was the opening of the new Extinguishing Section of Euralarm and the de facto expansion of the representation of Euralarm to the whole field of active fire protection.

Eligo at ST18 North

We were excited to be exhibiting again at Security Twenty 18 North that took place yesterday, discussing current activity and providing our insight into the Security & Fire recruitment market. It was hot outside in Harrogate, and hot inside the Majestic Hotel for the latest event in the Security TWENTY series of conference-exhibitions. As ever, heads and tails game and the raffle raised cash for a local good cause, in Harrogate’s case The Rainbow Fund, mums and a dad in the Yorkshire spa town that have been affected in some way by illness and life-limiting conditions in their children, as a charity raising money for equipment. A bottle of champagne in our traditional business cards draw was won by Adeline Jaulin from M.A.C. Solutions. Congratulations!
