Let's do the boring bit first: what is it going to take for you to be a good fit for a Technical Support role specialising in CCTV? Let's go with this...

1) You might be in a Technical Support role for a IT company at the moment. In which case, anything (ok...most things) to do with IT, IP, PC-based systems and networking is going to float your boat.

2) You might be an engineer at the moment working for a CCTV installer. That would entail coming off the tools of course and into an office-based role, but if you're sick of burning up and down the M3/M25 every day, drilling holes into walls and getting called out at 2am on a Saturday night then perhaps a move into a 9-5 would be ideal.

Now that's sorted, let's get to the good bit. The fun stuff etc.

So, the company specialise in CCTV, obvi! Bespoke solutions catered to many types of businesses such as commercial and retail. The fab thing about CCTV is everyone needs it. Everyone budgets for it because, like, who even puts a building up these days without CCTV in place? So...plenty of work for you to be doing! You'll be the first point of call for customers and engineers alike who may be struggling to work something out with your CCTV systems. Generally once you've got past the "have you switched it off then on again?" stage, you can utilise your technical knowledge to swiftly take people through the process and sort out their issues. Gold star!

When your not tending to people's needs, you'll be helping out the technical team testing equipment and pre-building CCTV.

You might even be involved in a few cheeky site visits every now and then to stretch your legs.

You do have to be commutable to the Wokingham/Berkshire area, ideally by car.

The salary is around £30,000 basic plus a little bonus scheme in there if the company make a profit, which they usually do!
