Eligo World Book Day 2019

Reading a book can be a great way to escape, for some it can help motivate to make a change, it might make a profound impact on our lives, or for others, it can simply make us feel happier and mindful. The World Book Day theme this year is 'share a story' so I asked some of the eligoids to share a book they particularly enjoyed or made a difference to their day to day lives.         Daniel Baxter – Technology Recruitment Consultant Sapiens by Yuval Hurari “This is a book which delves into where humans came from, the process which happened throughout evolution and past important events. I like the book as it is...

Merton best 2018 - Best Team Development Award

Last week we were lucky enough to be finalists at the Merton Best Business Awards for the 4th year in a row. The Merton Best Business Awards are sponsored by the Merton Chamber of Commerce and aim to celebrate the best of local business and are judged by a handpicked selection of community and business leaders. After previously winning awards such as Employer of the year and Best in Wimbledon Town Centre, we thought our luck had run its course until we found out that we were winners for this year’s Best Team Development award! The team development award is a huge achievement for the company, demonstrating the progress Eligo has made since initially forming in 2001 with a clear...

International Women’s Day: Who inspires you?

We’ve been striving towards gender equality for some time now and with two new hires, Eligo is now over 50% female. That's some feat in a generally male-dominated industry. Across many businesses in the UK, there is great work being done to redress the imbalance in gender equality within the workplace, yet more can still be done. Today around the world people are celebrating International Women’s Day and as it’s a global celebration that aims to inspire women worldwide we asked our fellow Eligoids ‘who is the most inspirational woman to you?’. (Picture, right: some of our inspired and inspiring...

Merton Best Business Wimbledon Eligo Recruitment

Since moving here in 2013, Wimbledon and the surrounding area has been an incredibly important place to us. You might only know Wimbledon for the tennis, but it's much more than that. It's where our office is based, it's where almost all our talented staff live, and it's where so many of our favourite businesses and locations are. The word community and essence of it are something that runs through Eligo and how we work. From this local community in Merton and South West London to those that grow out of our specialist markets, we've always passionately believed in getting ourselves involved and supporting wherever we can. It's for this reason we're particularly delighted to be...

Eligo Recruitment Best Recruitment Agency Recruiter Awards Shortlist

We've always considered ourselves pretty great; Eligo was started because of our passion for recruitment, doing it with quality and integrity, and wanting to create a workplace where our staff would feel the same and ultimately love coming to work each day. However, there's probably not many in the recruitment industry that don't feel the same way. That's why we're absolutely delighted every time we find out we've been selected for industry awards, and none more so than the Recruiter Awards. The Recruiter Awards gala is the UK's largest event for the entire recruitment community recognising outstanding achievements across the sector and is widely recognised as the benchmark within the...

love letter to recruitment

Roses are red, violets aren't blue, and recruitment is that relationship looked down upon by those surrounding you. Yep, recruitment sometimes doesn’t have the best rap having gained a reputation from a select few as an industry that plays fast and loose, often doing no more than sending across a CV and bombarding the phone with calls. If we were casting industries for a Jane Austen novel, it's unlikely recruitment would be chosen to play Mr Darcy. For those that love what they do in recruitment, however, it's an unfair reputation and often people don’t understand the efforts and highs and lows that go into the job every day. As such we’re abandoning the cheesy poems and asked...

Eligo Book Club with Fire & Security Recruitment Director John Guest

We’re a varied bunch here and all love a good read. Each world book day we’ve put together a quick blog going round the office and asking for our consultants best recommendations on books on a variety of subjects. These have been so successful that we’ve decided to branch out and focus on a small selection of books each consultant would love to recommend for a multitude of purposes and reasons. First up, we have Fire & Security Recruitment Director John Guest. Happy Reading!   One of my new year’s resolutions last year was to read more, and since I haven’t looked back. Around the office I quite often find myself suggesting a read to one of my colleagues, with many...
