Apple’s NFC chip to improving mobile access growth?

 

Access Control news & install/service engineer jobsWith the release of IOS 11 in September, Apple opened up access to the NFC chip in the Iphone 7 and 7 Plus, as well as future Iphone generations. This has huge potential to reinvigorate interest from mobile access providers in NFC-based smartphone communication. The latest reports from IHS suggests that the number of the mobile credentials downloaded by end users of mobile access solutions will increase rapidly during the next five years, reaching 44 million downloads by 2021 (comparing to 1 million downloaded in 2016). Mobile credentials are currently not competing against physical cards, but instead are being marketed as a complement to traditional offerings; therefore, the potential market is much larger.

JSAFE charity night

The joint security charity event JSAFE in London last night raised some £22,000 for London’s Air Ambulance, and a City of London Police charity for children. The black-tie event (pictured) at the City Grange Hotel included a raffle, bid auction, and ‘heads and tails’ game as copyrighted by one of the night’s organisers, Roy Cooper, the MD of Professional Security. “It was a very nice evening, everyone had a good time. And we raised a lot of money for two great charities.”
