Biometrics preferred for security
According to the survey by Mastercard and the University of Oxford, British consumers are increasingly eager to use biometrics as part of the purchasing process with 93% of consumers saying they would choose biometrics over the traditional security measures. “Biometrics recognition devices will increasingly become part of everyday life for the majority of people whether in the workplace or at leisure. It is the idea of convenience that is driving this trend, the convenience of not having to remember a password, or an ID card, the convenience of the individual being the credential for identification.”

The latest Annual Cybersecurity Report (ACR) by Cisco reveals that over one-third of organisations that experienced a breach in 2016 reported substantial customer, opportunity and revenue loss of more than 20 percent. The global report highlights challenges and opportunities for security teams to defend against the relentless evolution of cyber crime and shifting attack modes. “Relentless improvement is required and that should be measured via efficacy, cost, and well managed risk.”
