UKGovernmentUK Government gives £220m boost for cutting-edge tech

The chancellor of the exchequer Philip Hammond has announced that there will be a £220m boost to help support UK’s technology sector. £100m of the funding will be extended to enhance cutting edge medical technologies and some £120m will help to stimulate collaboration between universities and business.

Panasonic announces a new flexible batterypanasonic-battery

Panasonic unveiled its new flexible battery at Ceatec, a Technology exhibition in Japan. The battery can be bent and twisted up to a radius of 25mm over 1,000 times and it still will retain 99% of its charge. It has potential to be used inside wearable tech or flexible screens.

Google have announced their new smart phone that is set to rival the iPhone. The Pixel has a 5-inch 1080p screen and is powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor and runs on the latest Nougat release of Android. The Pixel will be on sale from the 20th of October and Google are claiming it to be the best phone on the market.

A survey was created to see what Developers thoughts about the current state of JavaScript were. Questions were asked on everything to do with the programming language from front-end frameworks to building tools and testing libraries with JavaScript. Out of the 9000 answers received, a conclusion was drawn that “the future does look bright for JavaScript”.
