Vice President - CPV Portfolio Calculator Lead Engineer.

The Lead Engineer leads the definition of the Target State Architecture for a specific business unit or infrastructure layer. The Lead Engineer ensures adherence to rules and defined roadmap, provides horizontal oversight, architectural and technical governance, is responsible for longevity, scalability and resiliency of technical solutions delivered to the customers. Provides thought leadership to technologists within the scope.

This Lead Engineer opportunity is for the Cross Product Valuation (CPV) Portfolio Calculator platform in Enterprise Risk Technology (ERT). The Portfolio Calculator exists to provide bank wide, cross product valuations that deliver regulatory compliance, optimize capital allocation and supports the bank risk management strategy.

Role Responsibilities :

  1. Defines architecture roadmap for a specific business unit or infrastructure layer.
  2. Designs and develops core components of the application suite.
  3. Defines technology standards for area of control.
  4. Collaborates with peers and customers in defining the cross product architecture interfaces.
  5. Where applicable, helps ensure that common data architecture strategies are implemented consistently in projects and initiatives to support proper data management.
  6. Contributes to problem and root cause analysis.
  7. Collaborates with colleagues participating in other stages of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  8. Supports and promotes the company values and beliefs in every activity.
  9. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery.
  10. Ability to balance business demands and IT fulfilment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility.
  11. Experience in IT delivery and architecture, application design and programming in a large enterprise working on mission-critical IT systems.
  12. Proven history of implementing technology roadmaps and providing subject matter expertise in specific technologies.

Experience & Exposure :

  1. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing and alternating priorities with a constant focus on delivery.
  2. Ability to balance business demands and IT fulfilment in terms of standardization, reducing risk and increasing IT flexibility.
  3. Experience in IT delivery and architecture, application design and programming in a large enterprise working on mission-critical IT systems.
  4. Proven history of implementing technology roadmaps and providing subject matter expertise in specific technologies.

Technical / Specialist Skills:

  1. Expert Knowledge of Core Java 7-8, preferably a polygot (for example any experience with Python, Scala, C++) with capabilities in one or more of the following : low latency, distributed caching, high performance multi-threading paradigms.
  2. Architectural Design Patterns, Highly optimized, Low latency and Massively Scalable Platforms.
  3. Quantitative mindset, analytical, confident, articulate, enthusiastic and able to operate independently.
  4. Very strong written and oral communication skills to wide ranging audiences from more junior engineers as a mentor to senior Managing Directors, Traders, Quants and Strats.
  5. Significant Business / Product knowledge relevant to pricing and risk of multiple asset classes.

Education / Certification

Master of Science degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science or Software Engineering (or equivalent) - with a minor in Finance, Mathematics or Engineering.
